Side-Curtain Weldable Reinforcements

The original manufacturer of pvc coated webbings in the UK, Tannoid Coated Fabrics Limited, located in Wandsworth, London, was established in December 1953, and later became part of the William Kenyon Group of Companies, in Dukinfield, Cheshire. The current MD of Wisla Narrow Fabrics Limited, Edward Kozaczek, was a Board member of the William Kenyon Industrial Webbings Division throughout the period of significant growth in the pvc coated webbing market especially in the 1990’s, driven by technological advances in high frequency welding, and an associated increased demand for curtainsider vehicles, tilts, side-loaders, and transportation generally.

Wisla acquired the coating line from William Kenyon in 2004 and since then has continually and pro-actively designed new specifications and products allowing customers and fabricators to enhance and develop their own products for both established and new markets.

Eddie commented, “The range of finished products into which Wisla’s pvc coated webbing range is considered a critical component has diversified and evolved significantly over the years from the original side-curtains and tarpaulins to tensioned structural membranes and marine safety rescue cradles to name a few. Development with a variety of raw material substrates and plastisols is ongoing and we continue to bring new products to market.”

Primary Colours include Black, White, Light Grey, Charcoal Grey, a width profile ranging from 8mm to 150mm and tensile strengths from 500 kgf to 18,000 kgf.
